Software Development Ford College Graduate Program
The 32-month Ford College Graduate (FCG) rotational, developmental program in Software Development offers challenging assignments in various areas with a focus on software design, development, and testing. Software Developers at Ford work on many different technologies, such as High Voltage Battery Control Systems, Motor and Inverter Control Systems, Electrified Vehicle Controls and Engine Control Strategies, Control Systems, Engine & Transmission Control Systems, In-Car Infotainment (Radios, Navigation, SYNC), Driver Convenience & Safety Features, Connected Vehicles, and even Fully Autonomous Vehicles.
FCG assignments may include: Real-time Embedded Software/Controls development in C/C++, Linux and MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, Software Validation & Testing, Autonomous Vehicle Control Systems Development, Programming, Wired and Wireless Networking Technologies, Modeling & Simulation of Vehicle Controls, Human/Machine Interfaces, Autonomous, Robotics, Machine Learning, Object Detection & Tracking and Many More!
To begin your program, you are assigned a "home" organization based on your interests, background and our business needs. You will be assigned a mentor, a member of PD management within your area, to advise and guide you through a core set of developmental assignments related to your home organization. These assignments are structured to develop your skills and help to build your understanding of your home organization and the product creation process. Your development will be further supported by a number of technical and professional training opportunities. Once you complete the program, you will be placed within your home organization to continue building your engineering career and developing technical expertise.
Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in one of the following fields:
Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Computer Network or Systems Administration
3.0 overall GPA
Graduation date by August 2017
Willing to relocate to South East Michigan
0-3 years of relevant work experience
3.4 overall GPA
Involvement with IEEE, HKN, participating in hack-a-thons or similar extracurricular activities, strong communication skills, ability to work within diverse teams
Experience with different operating systems
Previous internship or co-op with Ford
