Ford employees from Model e Customer Division and Integrated Services teams recently reported for work at the restored Michigan Central Station. As of move-in day, this group is officially part of the dynamic ecosystem Michigan Central is building in collaboration with their Ford Pro colleagues and members of Newlab, Google, local entrepreneurs and the Michigan Central team.
This summer, 26 Ford facilities in the U.S. and Canada opened their doors to welcome the friends and families of plant team members. The Family Open House season is wrapping up, but the memories will remain for employees like Maribel Cortez, an inspector for F-150 pre-delivery at Kansas City Assembly Plant. She says that her kids love that she makes trucks and works on cars.
“Every time we see a Ford car, they say 'mom made that' or 'that's mom's company.’ It's great that we get to bring the kids in to see what we do.”
The new Michigan Central Station celebrated its grand reopening on June 6, 2024. This former railroad station was one of the architectural gems of Detroit, and it’s now been restored to its full splendor. Today’s Michigan Central will bring collaboration, innovation and community together to create new technology and opportunities for Detroiters and Michiganders.
