Mixed Media Modeling Analyst

The Mixed Media Marketing Modeling Analyst will be a contact for the Global, Data, Insights, & Analytics organization for Ford’s Brand and Fixed (advertising) Marketing Teams.
This Dearborn, MI located position will be responsible for providing measurement and insight regarding the optimization of marketing activities, prioritizing projects and working within a team that will design, execute, and deliver analysis used to understand and optimize Ford’s marketing resources.
The Mixed Media Modeling Analyst is chartered to provide insight beyond fact-based reporting and will interpret results in the context of the market place/ environment. The ability to turn data into compelling narratives that resonate with the customer is a key aspect of this role. The analyst will also present findings to the customer directly. Outstanding communication skills are required.


  • Manage the Mixed Media Modeling services supporting:
    • Advertising (understand Ford’s MROI - Marketing Return on Investment Solution).
    • Provide the Marketing customer with timely and insightful analysis of media spending alternatives given budget and communication objectives
    • Conduct testing and What If analysis to support business decisions
  • Establish and optimize access to data and applications required to deliver marketing optimization services
    • Manages relationships with external suppliers of data and specialized analysis/research organizations
    • Establish / Own / Manage data assets required to delivery marketing optimization analytics
    • Approves changes to the data assets required to delivery marketing optimization analytics

  • Create, implement and improve operational work processes related to the delivery of marketing optimization analytics
    • Prioritize requests and manage the fulfillment of requests while optimizing utilization of resources
    • Request logging, prioritization, approvals, tracking
    • Measurement processes, techniques, standards
    • Service level agreements with data / analytics service providers
    • Compliance with legal / Company policy
    • Approve approach, design, results, insights and delivery of marketing optimization
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry groups, peers in other organizations and other analytic organizations within Ford Motor Company to benchmark and improve marketing optimization services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Economics, Statistics, Operations Research, Marketing, or Business Systems
  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis in marketing research or marketing modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strongly prefer candidate to have applied quantitative analysis experience with multiyear experience using data models with an emphasis on marketing
  • Ability to formulate business problems into an appropriate research framework, interpret the analytic results, and translate the complex quantitative methods and results into easily understood products for all levels of business customers
  • Ability to lead, plan, develop, and implement projects / programs that generate profit and the courage to reject those that do not
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal formats
  • Demonstrate ability to work within a team setting and manage work flow(s)
  • Graduate/Post Graduate academic experience related to marketing research
  • Ability to measure business performance through financial analysis
  • Demonstrated track record of project development, management, and implementation
  • Strong problem-formulation and problem-solving skills
  • Data driven; strategic thinker; results and customer-oriented
  • Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning
  • Ability to effectively direct IT / Vendor resources related to analytic services
  • Preferred: MA / MS in Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Marketing, Business Systems or MBA with specialization in marketing or research; or work equivalent
  • SQL programming experience
  • Programming skills in SAS, R, and/or MTAB
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and software, such as Qlikview and Tableau
  • Ability to drive results and handle multiple projects within a given timeframe
  • Advertising agency experience (media planning)
  • Well-organized, independent, and ready to work with minimal supervision
