Ford’s Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware and functional models that provide Best in Class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems.

We are seeking seasoned professionals who can contribute to our efforts with experience in the development of sensors, ECUs, models and software. This role focuses on the software verification and validation for a central ADAS ECU for DAT2.0 (Driver Assistance Technologies 2.0), but could also involve other elements of the process because we are seeking to add high quality people to the team rather than trying to squeeze engineers into a specific role.

  • Lead/support the verification and validation of the SW related to ADAS.
  • Understand Feature specifications, FMEAs, robustness disciplines and DVP
  • Understand the performance requirements for the sensing system and its interactions with the features, and establish procedures to verify performance both quantitatively and subjectively
  • Define the test setup needs in terms of benches and hardware in the loop systems that could be used conduct V&V
  • Define test procedures and test plans and execute the same during the project, per the timing needs of the project.
  • Support issue resolution of SW related issues
  • Work with the Ford Hardware in the Loop Team to establish procedures to reduce dependence on vehicle level testing
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Controls Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience as an engineer in the embedded systems area
  • 3+ years of experience in the verification and validation of embedded SW
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of embedded hardware and software design
  • Control algorithm development using Matlab, Simulink or equivalent
  • Experience in development in C
  • Experience with using hardware in the loop systems and with test bench setup.
  • Experience with debuggers, Canalyzers and similar test equipment.
  • Some experience with collection and analysis data for driver assistance technologies.
