Position Description/Overview:

We are seeking exceptional candidates to join our growing autonomous vehicle (AV) business team! Autonomous vehicles are an important part of Ford’s future and we are looking for the best and brightest. The role will require enterprise-wide critical thinking, leading cross-functional professionals, and a “get it done” attitude to help make strategic decisions that will enable Ford to be a leader in autonomy, connectivity, mobility, customer experience, and analytics. As the Autonomous Vehicle Partnerships Manager, you lead the exploration and activation of strategic Autonomous Vehicle partnerships for Ford as we execute business pilots with multiple external partners across different commercial applications.

  • Lead the exploration of strategic and complementary partnerships with diverse firms across the United States and globally
  • Ensure that partnership evaluations consider many aspects including business feasibility, profit potential, and complementary brand impact on all relevant parties, in concert with the brand strategy of Ford
  • Lead cross functional skill teams in the evaluation and execution of potential partnerships, modelling an enterprise view of decision-making and business development
  • Develop detailed financial models and valuation analysis for potential partnerships
  • Coordinating and implementing due diligence for potential transactions.
  • Create investment memorandums and related presentations for review by the Ford senior management team, including C-Level executives as well as Ford’s Board of Directors
  • Performing research to identify partnerships for growth within Ford’s existing businesses or expansion into new areas
  • Actively contributing to the negotiation of transaction terms and legal documentation
  • Interfacing with finance, legal, tax and other departments of Ford to ensure seamless deal execution
  • Develop a culture of creativity and accountability – solve problems in new ways while keeping organizational commitments; establish appropriate cadence for reviews to maintain progress and resolve issues, all while maintaining an agile and adaptive working style promoting initiative, accountability, and quick iteration learning and revision
  • Challenge actively (constructively) and voice relevant concerns; coach and teach others on the team to engage constructively in meetings and encourage vibrant discourse

Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • MBA degree is required
  • 3+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development or technology partnerships

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development or technology partnership
  • Previous experience leading and delivering large scale, complex product programs or projects
  • Exceptional ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Ability to incorporate research, strategy and analytics into design decisions
  • Adept in the ability to identify and engage into discourse with firms outside the Company and our industry to explore new business models
  • Professional judgment and discretion
  • Analytical skills to forecast, identify, and evaluate partnership opportunities
  • Comfortable working in white-space emerging business areas dependent on innovation, creativity, and testing new business models that are new to the Company, and new to our industry
  • Comfortable leading in a highly matrixed organization with internal and external stakeholders, most of whom are not in a direct reporting line relationship
  • Excellent project leadership skills to drive topics with multiple stakeholders/interests
  • Ability to confidently communicate and assist in effective negotiation with external partners
  • Know when and how to communicate (email, presentation, face to face, collaboration tools, etc.) to maintain alignment between internal and external team members, project executives and project stakeholders in a dynamic, geographically distributed and culturally diverse organization
  • Ability to inspire and be team-oriented
