Knowledges:

  • Have a robust understanding of engine performance and function
  • Knowledge of the I4 Duratec architecture and 2.0L GDI a plus
  • Have ability to understand IP and PV testing following ES 6007 specifications
  • Understanding of Engine Teardown & Analysis Guide (ETAG) requirements
  • Have a working knowledge of plant SOS
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Good interpersonal skills to interface with production, maintenance, mgmt., suppliers
  • Self-motivated, capable of prioritization, flexible, durable (some weekend/OT )

 
Test and teardown responsibilities include:

  • Lead DEP QC department for dyno test and teardown (IP, COPs, Engine exchanges, PVs)
  • Test engine and cell troubleshooting
  • Teardown for analysis and gauging process.
  • Test engine (IP, PV, Special) teardown with gauging to meet ETAG procedures
  • Engine exchange teardown, initial analysis for defect/cause and documentation
  • High availability for critical teardowns (weekends/holidays)
  • VO Pull teardown and initial assessment teardown, inspection and documentation
  • Engine exchange review technical support (extensive knowledge of the 2.0L GDI)

 
Administrative/Management:

  • Must have Ford QOS working knowledge (AWS, BSAQ, CQIS, TGW, Pulls, Repairs…)
  • Schedule / prioritize test and teardown work load assignments
  • Manages QC area test, VO and exchange engine inventory for:
  • Current inventory status
  • Prioritization
  • Disposition
  •  MP&L cycle check data
  • Act as a liaison between Ford and some QC purchased services
  • Test / teardown reports
  • Generate and do initial evaluation
  • Obtain managerial signoffs
  • Distribute and file appropriately
  • Maintain area safety compliance via area walk and issue resolution, as needed.
  • Maintain area environmental compliance via work practices, audit participation and issue resolution with the environmental team.
  • Test, VO and exchange engine inventory management (tracking from incoming through prep for shipment to remanufacturer)
  • Offsite rework/repair technical and communication support
  • Engine training aid creation and class support

 
Maintenance:

  •  Ensure area autonomous tasks (Teardown/garage/dyno facilities cleaning and upkeep) completed timely
  •  Report equipment issues and escalate where appropriate
  • Coordinate with maintenance activities for internal resolutions

 
Support:
 

  • Support test and measurement verifications (Druck, bubble-o-meter, Uson orifices)
  • Production component issue special study support (fastener tests, etc.)
  • Oversees component dunk tank testing and analysis
  • Onsite VO issue investigation and correction support
  • Special issue tooling / checking gauge fabrication
  • PIC room facilities support


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
