Job Description Position Overview/Description: The City Solutions team works with cities to make Ford part of the broader urban transportation ecosystem and develop smart, customized, multimodal solutions to change the way the world moves. As a Summer Intern, you will own a project that directly informs the team’s understanding of market development opportunities and business pilots in one of the company’s most innovative divisions.
Develop strategy for scalable approach to public-private partnerships and municipal procurement for Ford’s emerging mobility services
Inform the business on data sharing standards and protocols and the impact on multimodality in urban transportation systems
Integrate emerging perspectives on public policy related to city assets like streets, open space, parking lots, and curbs into team proof-of-concept projects
Conduct influencer and stakeholder mapping for priority cities
Participate regularly in team meetings and design sessions
Support team’s use of project management tools and CRM to improve opportunity pipeline
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Must be willing to relocate to SE Michigan for the duration of the internship
Interest in transportation, policy, planning, or a mobility-related field
Strong aptitude for critical thinking and analysis – able to translate strategic plans into executable actions
