Working with Ford internal Safety Office to ensure Automated Vehicle (AV) offerings are in compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety System (FMVSS) Requirements
Assisting in conducting experiments to validate vehicle system and subsystem performance meet safety targets
Development of system level functional safety requirements for automated vehicles
Assist in the creation of system level technical requirements for automated vehicles
Development of test plans and procedures for verifying that internally developed automated vehicle safety targets are met
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline
3+ years’ experience performing systems engineering for new technology development
2+ years’ experience testing automotive features / products to ensure adherence to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
Experience developing automotive technology aimed at making sure automotive technology / offerings are in compliance with government regulations
MS or Higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline
Knowledge of the Concept level, Preliminary Design, Final Design, and Test Development Phases in Automotive Development
Experience working in a team-based project from inception to finish across multiple disciplines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
