We are seeking exceptional candidates to join our growing autonomous vehicle (AV) business team! Autonomous vehicles are an important part of Ford’s future and we are looking for the best and brightest. The role will require critical thinking, problem solving capabilities, and a “get it done” attitude to help make strategic decisions that will enable Ford to be a leader in autonomy, connectivity, mobility, customer experience, and analytics. As an autonomous vehicle pilot manager, you plan and execute business pilots with multiple external partners across different commercial applications.
Conceptualize, design, coordinate and manage autonomous vehicle pilot programs across various skill teams within the Company and external suppliers and partners
Always leading with a spirit of collaboration, secure buy-in from key internal stakeholders through effective and efficient communications and key milestone reviews
Develop a culture of creativity and accountability in project teams – solve problems in new ways while keeping organizational commitments
Responsible for managing all aspects of pilot programs’ day-to-day activities to ensure programs are running to plan
Maintain constant dialogue with pilot execution teams, including external pilot partner to address any issues as they arise with minimal delay and rapid problem solving iterations
Communicate pilot learnings and results to the AV leadership team, and engage in cross-functional discourse, brainstorming, and business planning to further the overall AV business strategy
Challenge actively (constructively) and voice relevant concerns
Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, as well as training and development opportunities; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; foster a diverse and inclusive workplace
Job Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Computer Science or Software Engineering or similar technical degree
5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
2+ years in a project management role
Graduate degree in Operations Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering or MBA
Experience leading project and/or software development teams in an agile environment is highly desired
Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
