Research Engineer position offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). Research and develop concepts and prototypes of new connectivity features, producing idea presentations, technology demonstrations, use cases, proof-of-concept implementations, specifications and requirements. Support the development and maintenance of new technology platforms for connected vehicle features and feature development projects. Design new features and software for connected vehicles, perform competitive analyses, and research emerging technologies
Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field
3 years of experience developing software
3 years of experience implementing software features communicating through TCP/IP (Ethernet and/or WiFi), CAN, and REST HTTP APIs
2 years of experience: developing applications for the QNX operating system
2 years of experience designing interfaces and software with QT/QML
1 year of experience: developing software in an automotive manufacturing environment
1 year of experience designing location aware systems and features utilizing GPS, Map, Navigation or POI data
