Act as a Strategic Analyst to support and advance Ford Smart Mobility's local strategy and execution for city engagement. This will include domestic and international cities. Work within a team to create and/or advance tools supporting solutions for cities to identify, build, launch, and operationalize sustainable business models that best position Ford and strategic partners to solve city mobility challenges and improve the quality of urban life.
Contribute to effective analysis and engagement of cities.
Develop analytic capabilities for the evaluation of cities and for strengthening the evolution of mobility business solutions
Act as a liaison with internal teams to identify needs required for city solutions
Support Ford Smart Mobility teams and partners to pilot and/or roll out solutions for cities
Support prelaunch activities translating business questions into analytic hypotheses for work with Ford's Global Data Analytics & Insights team
Support internal Ford stakeholders and external partners globally to establish processes and operational competencies that deliver profitable solutions tailored to city's needs
Implement new tools and processes to scan, capture, and synthesize needs expressed at the local level to inform the design of new mobility solutions
Use analytic, urban planning, and business methods to support the prioritization of business opportunities by city, and the operational roll-out of services:
Develop key metrics to measure success
Participate in the Ford Smart Mobility planning process to inform the selection and prioritization of new city opportunities
Establish and maintain relevant networks by attending and presenting at various city and mobility-related forms
Advance skill team knowledge of the application of urban planning and land-use practices for more effective placement of business services in the city and the improvement of analysis for operational effectiveness of new business models
Job Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics, or related field(s).
3+ years experience working laterally across multiple business projects simultaneously
3+ years of experience supporting the development of tools to gauge addressable demand by business service type
Strong quantitative, finance, and business modeling skills
Experience with methods and tasks to strengthen application of data, analytics, and processes for business opportunity evaluation
Business experience building or delivering mobility solutions or public transit services
Experience developing solutions and analytic tools relevant to urban planning, municipal governments, technology providers, real estate, and public and private sector transportation operators, or
Strong research and analytic background, which can include consulting in related industries, or similar professional experience
Technical skills should include a combination of : urban planning transportation practice and theory (including Complete Streets practices), spatial analysis, gathering and use of city-level data, information design/visualization, and translating technical solutions to business or public service solutions
Ability to understand and advance analysis of complex needs for the integration of services relevant to the business and public sectors
Bias for action - identifies and acts on both short- and long-term goals in achieving results
Comfortable with ambiguity - remains focused in spite of unexpected challenges; continues to seek a path forward
Strong aptitude for critical thinking and analysis - able to translate strategic plans into executable actions
MBA and/or Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Business Analytics, Predictive Analytics in process or completed, or equivalent professional experience
