Product Development (PD) engineers are responsible for delivering exciting products that are world class in cost, quality, function and time to market. As ONE team, we are committed to delighting our customers and employees by executing consistently while using common global standards, methods and processes with rigor and discipline.

We are looking to hire interns in the following areas:

Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE)
Electrified Powertrain Engineering (EPE)
Powertrain Controls, Calibrations, and NVH (PCCN)
Research & Advanced Engineering (R&A)- Autonomous Vehicles

Product Development Software Development Internship Program
Our goal is to provide you a meaningful and challenging PD assignment that directly contributes to the Company business objectives. Intern assignments are typically project based and include a hands-on experience that will develop you technically and professionally. These assignments can be in Autonomous Vehicles, Electrified Powertrain Engineering, Calibration, Controls and Connected Vehicles.
Over the course of 12-weeks, the summer software intern program also lets you build a network of friends and contacts, learn about living and playing in Southeastern Michigan, learn valuable skills and see what Ford Motor Company is all about. It is an opportunity for you to prove yourself to us – and let us prove ourselves to you!

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must have completed and passed an internship with Ford Motor Company or Ford Credit Company within the past 24 moths.
  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in one of the following fields:
    • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Network or Systems Administration
  • 3.0 overall GPA
  • Graduation date by August 2019, with limited opportunities for those graduating by August 2020
Preferred Requirements:
  • 3.4 overall GPA
  • Involvement with IEEE or similar extracurricular activities, strong communication skills, ability to work within diverse teams
