The Research/Innovation area is a multi-year effort designed to advance the company’s capabilities in new methods for IT delivery and new architectures to solve modern business problems. The program is cross-functional looking to solve strategic problems across all business skills teams and enhance IT’s delivery capability.
This person will be evaluating and recommending how solutions will be solved while working with existing. Will also engage with IT Suppliers and Startups to develop and enhance Ford’s ability to solve difficult business problems. Finally, this individual will Influence existing partners on Ford’s needs and how their roadmaps can be leveraged to move faster.
6+ years of experience with API methods and implementation technologies such as web services in a distributed architecture deployments
6+ years of experience with frameworks, architecture patterns and design patterns
6+ years of experience as lead architect on multiple large-scale product or enterprise initiatives, including Cloud Architecture
6+ years of experience with J2EE technologies, Rest Web Services, Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Integration, MVC and Spring Cloud Services) and Messaging architectures
Application Architect experience in understanding technical business requirements and define technical architecture based solutions that align to Ford Motor Company’s Standards.
Full application / system development lifecycle knowledge and experience
Expertise in interoperability standards and methods
Outstanding and proven leadership skills in working with senior-level management helping in decision making
Support the application team in the development of the technical designs and documentation
Ability to provide support such as troubleshooting to application performance issues
Ability to participate in vendor solution evaluation processes
Strong architecture knowledge with experience in providing technical solutions for projects
5+ years of work experience in Solution Architecture and Cloud Architecture
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Experience with interoperability and the myriad of ways to exchange data effectively and securely
Negotiation skills and ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders/customers
Self-starter, ability to work independently but still can work within group to deliver top notch solutions
Self-researcher, ability to research a technology and provide insight to project team
Experience implementing or supporting mobile applications, frameworks and protocols
Experience architecting and designing public facing solutions
Understanding of highly available scalable global architectures (99.99 percent availability or less than 1 hour of scheduled and unscheduled downtime per year with greater than 3M global connections)
