Job Description

Ford’s re-entry program is a temporary assignment for those with an extended employment break (2 or more years) in their field who are looking to re-launch their careers. This is a supplemental position with provisions and benefits different from a regular full-time position. All positions are expected to begin in Fall 2017, and have a six-month duration. Upon successful completion of the program, a full-time employment offer could be made.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an architecture practitioner and strategic leader to guide multidisciplinary application product teams to envision, design and improve IT solutions serving internal Business Operation users. You will partner with suppliers and Ford internal customers and IT teams to architect the right technology directions that lead us to new insights. The Ford Enterprise Architecture is a growing organization committed to envisioning and creating innovative, robust and quality solutions that enable Ford teams and our customers to go further.


  • To lead architecture for projects in the Business Operations area (HR, Office of General Council, Finance, Accounting and Ford Land) using standard architecture patterns
  • To work with application teams to define, implement and integrate components (examples: hardware, software, requirements for availability, scalability and reliability)
  • To support the application team in the development of the technical design
  • To provide architecture support such as troubleshooting to application performance issues
  • To lead the vendor technical solution evaluation
  • To thrive in a fast paced working norm and deliver multiple projects simultaneously

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ year of experience in ERP, analytical, mainframe, J2EE technologies, VMWare, Linux, Windows operating systems, relational database servers

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Functional experience in HR, Office of General Council, Finance and Accounting
  • Experience in trouble shooting complex systems and performance testing and tuning
  • Data center knowledge and experiences
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong and open communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong learner and continuously willing to seek out expert help and learning resources
  • Strong architecture knowledge with experience in providing technical solution for IT projects
  • Negotiation skills and ability to achieve consensus with several and diverse set of stakeholders/customers
