At our Palo Alto Research and Innovation Center, we are exploring the role of advanced technologies and business models which will redefine the meaning of mobility in the 21st century.

We are looking for exceptionally creative, motivated and talented anthropologists, psychologists and ethnographers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting user-centric research into the relationship between human beings and technology, as well as the proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Although based in California, the team will be global in scope, collaborating extensively within Ford and with external partners to explore the cultural similarities and differences than drive the global mobility landscape.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Planning and executing both field and laboratory studies on the evolving nature of transportation and personal mobility
  • Analyzing research data and trends
  • Identifying unique opportunities for new technologies and business models
  • Working closely with Ford technologists and business leaders, devise and assess new solutions to the challenges of global mobility

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or higher in anthropology, psychology or related technical fields
  • 3+ years experience designing, conducting and analyzing mixed-methods research

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience conducting diverse forms of user research as part of a team, e.g., observational research, structured interviewing and user testing
  • Experience analyzing both qualitative and quantitative behavioral data
  • Experience with user testing of advanced technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player with record of collaboration
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Ability to multi-task
