We are looking for a team member within the Websphere Application Server Operations support team to install, configure and maintain the Websphere environment on the zOS mainframe platform. Additional duties include the advanced support issues to insure high availability, coordination and communication and compliance with all policies, procedures and directives. A creative mind will create some automation programs to assist with successful deployments of the application.
Analyze and resolve WAS related issues and problems
Work with other infrastructure, application, engineering, database administration and operation teams on projects and day-to-day problems.
Assist in the coding and support of various UNIX scripts for WAS support.
Assist with creation, development, and enforcement of WAS on zOS operational standards.
Work with vendors to solve problems
Develop a proactive health check process
Support z/OS Unix System Services (USS) and Websphere environments.
Provide off hours support for .
Provide 24 hours support 7 days per week during rotational assignment
Implement and maintain security and control policies, procedures and standards
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of installed Hardware and Software products.
Provide customer support by addressing trouble tickets providing levels 1, 2 and 3 support.

2+ years of experience with evaluation and integration of new technologies within a WAS support environment
2+ years of experience with Websphere Application Server (WAS) on multiple platform
2+ years of experience within a Websphere Application Server (WAS) technical support team providing system programming, installation, configuration, maintenance and general production support
Performance monitoring experience with IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) and IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager (ITCAM) preferred
Excellent problem solving skills
Self-starter; ability to work both independently and with a team
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across organizational boundaries
Ability to work collaboratively and positively with a diverse set of perspectives to achieve positive business outcomes
