The ESAP is a person who is familiar with all aspects of the facilities electrical power distribution system. Knowledge of NFPA 70E "Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements for Employee Workplaces", OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910.333 and IEEE STD 902 "IEEE Guide for Maintenance, Operation, and Safety of Industrial and Commercial Power Systems"
Acceptance of new installations of electrical distribution equipment.
Control of the electrical power distribution system and all related electrical permits and procedures;
The implementation, supervision and documentation of a regular inspection, test and maintenance program on electrical power distribution systems and equipment.
Switching operations on electrical power distribution systems
Ensuring continued compliance with national electrical regulations
Completing and maintaining Certifications of Appointment for Authorized Persons, Qualified/Competent Persons and Permit Issuers
Ensuring that full information and adequate instruction is given to anyone carrying out any work on the facilities electrical power distributions system
Reviewing system modifications (including load changes and capacity improvements) so that the overall impact can be assessed and system integrity ensured
Ensuring all system modifications are carried out and/or approved by a Qualified Engineer in line with local statutory requirements, Company best practices, guidelines and latest relevant professional standards
Ensuring that all system single line drawings, protection settings, short circuit and arc flash calculations/labels are accurate, complete, reflect latest system changes and are readily available
Ensuring that adequate operational coverage is in place should he/she be unavailable
Maintaining and upgrading HVAC, Lighting, Air Compressors, Chillers, fire alarm, a building management system and a Waste Treatment Plan
Ability to read blueprints
Job Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
2 + years’ experience in Power Distribution Engineering in a manufacturing environment
1+ years’ experience in Microsoft Office
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
