Job Description Job description: Analytics Scientist position offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). Perform product and engineering analytics and optimization work as a member of the Enterprise Risk team in GDIA and develop solutions to support Ford's activities including product development, marketing, consumer satisfaction, quality, reverse-engineering of 3rd party product assessments, compliance with government regulations and engineering. Translate high-level ideas regarding product, engineering and marketing domains into well-defined mathematical problems. Develop empirical models using traditional, modern or machine-learning related regression techniques. Develop and implement optima or near-optimal solutions and distribute appropriately.
Requires a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in statistics, industrial engineering, predictive analytics or a related field
2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years of experience performing product, marketing and engineering analytics in the automotive industry
2 years of experience: developing regression models using traditional and machine learning techniques including general and generalized linear models, multivariate statistics, multivariate adaptive regression splines, classification and regression trees, least absolute shrinkage selection operator, ridge, and elastic net
2 years of experience designing, generating and analyzing data arising from designed experiments and unstructured data
2 years of experience using both R and Minitab statistical software
