Data Scientist- Smart Mobility

The Global Data Insights & Analytics team at Ford Motor Company has a position open for a Data Scientist-Smart Mobility.


Responsibilities

  • Research and apply advanced mathematical and analytical methods to investigate complex issues
  • Identify and solve quantitative problems across various domains critical to business success, including improving manufacturing process, optimizing production schedules, and developing pricing models
  • Develop mathematical models and computer algorithms to analyze and optimize existing operations and use these models to guide analysis and provide insight for management decisions
Basic Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Computer Science
  • 3+ years of experience using linear, nonlinear, dynamic, and mixed-integer programming.
  • 3+ years of experience using Matlab and Cplex optimization software tools.
  • 3+ years of experience using C++, Java, or Scala.
  • 3+ years of experience programming in R, MATLAB, or SAS.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Applied Mathematics, Operation Research, Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering
  • Demonstrated skills in large scale data manipulation and mining / pattern recognition
  • Demonstrated proficiency with simulation techniques such as Monte Carlo
  • Knowledge of theoretical / empirical techniques commonly used in industrial organizations (e.g. game theory, contract theory, oligopoly theory
  • Experience with C# and/or JAVA for developing Windows and Web applications
  • Experience researching, developing and implementing optimization algorithms for various business needs, including operations planning and production scheduling.
  • Experience programming with SQL, Spark or Hadoop.
  • Experience data mining using PC, Mainframe, Unix/Linux, Teradata, and Big data platforms.
  • Experience executing both descriptive and inferential ad hoc requests in a timely manner.
  • Experience communicating and presenting models to business customers and executives
