Job Title: Consulting Architect / Architecture Management and Architecture Center of Excellence

Position Overview/Description:
The role of the Consulting Architect AM/CoE is a critical enabler to ensure that architecture processes fully support the goals and requirements of IT and business demand. The Consulting Architect AM/CoE works closely with individuals from each architecture role, business relationship manager teams, delivery teams, infrastructure engineering teams, operations teams, and external strategic partners to drive efficient, well understood, aligned, and flexible architecture processes.
• Provides thought and technology leadership as the Chief Architect of Architecture Management processes
• Leads the implementation and operation of a cross functional Center of Excellence for architecture functions in all regions.
• Directs the operation of the AM/CoE team

Responsibilities:

Tasks:
• Manage a team of 15+ Architects, Program Managers, Business Analysts, and external partners located in Dearborn, Chennai, London and Shanghai
• Manage the Architecture Management Office and the Enterprise Architecture 2.0 initiative
• Manage the delivery of the Enterprise Blueprint and associated Enterprise Priority initiatives
• Manage the Architecture Modeling function to ensure financial and technical requirements are balanced
• Lead development of the Center of Excellence key strategies (e.g. process, methods, information, and tools)
• Manage and coordinate architecture learning and development
• Provide the organizational interface to the Architecture CoP and other organized CoPs globally

• Global responsibility – Manages a team of architects in all major locations and delivers architecture consultancy and services in all Ford locations.

Relationship Management:
• Aligns with stakeholders to drive results (issue resolution, risk mitigation, issue avoidance)
• Interfaces with senior management, vendors and other IT groups
• Provides departmental feedback to other IT groups regarding processes and standards
• Leads and motivates department
• Shares best practices with other IT groups

Management Responsibilities:

Budget
• Responsible for departmental budget
• Responsible for Integration and Commonality budget

Supervisory
• Leads an organization (Ford and/or agency)

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 8+years of experience within IT
• 8+ years of experience in architecture or infrastructure management and architecture consultancy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Ford architecture management processes
• Hands-on experience in multiple roles across the spectrum of the lifecycle of applications and/or technologies
