Customer & Dealer Analytics IT System Design Specialist

Position Duties:

The System Design & Development Specialist, as a member of the delivery team, will be responsible for understanding all aspects of the planned business solution, with focus on one or more functional or technical work streams. This will include managing deliverables, understanding of the various interfacing systems and daily interaction and relationship management with key business customers and IT team members. This position will support exciting projects in Big Data, Analytics, and Digital Marketing space supporting Global Data Insight and Analytics business area.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop the system specifications by interpreting the business, user, functional, and non-functional requirements as documented in the Business Requirements Document (BRD)
  • Ensure the implementation of the functional/nonfunctional requirements to produce the final solution. Develop the Logical design from the Conceptual model
  • Understand the capabilities and limitations of new systems and how they integrate into the existing environment
  • Apply company architecture standards appropriately to the solution or service in collaboration with Architects
  • Provide input on program estimation and project complexity
  • Develop implementation and transition plans
  • Ensure solutions or services adhere to IT principles such as optimizing system design for performance, maintainability and usability requirements
  • Responsible for creating solutions that meet Ford IT standards, procedures, security, and policies
  • Review and refine design components created by an associate designer/developer
  • Lead and mentor team members to share the design vision of the solution
  • Interact with technical peers (business analysts, developers, architects), IT and business management
  • Work with external vendor experts

Minimum Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in solution design/development on multiple projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with digital marketing, mobile technologies, and connected vehicle technologies
  • Experience in supporting continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies
  • Experience with emerging technologies, cloud architectures, security and/or any other service-oriented architecture
  • Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design
  • Knowledge of core JEE patterns, SOA design principles, design patterns and performance tuning
  • Experience with ETL, Data Analytics, Text Analytics, SAS, Hadoop, Tableau,in-depth data analysis, data profiling and modeling
  • Knowledge and past experience in Marketing and Sales
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver project commitments, all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Experience with designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance, applying agile practices to solution delivery
  • Experience in preparing and producing releases of software components, design is in compliance with specifications
  • Must be team-oriented and have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
